Hotels in Logroño

Logroño is the capital of Rioja, which means it functions as the region's wine-trade hub rather than a tourist destination in its own right — people come here to drink, not to sightsee. The Calle Laurel is the real draw: a compact old-town grid of pintxos bars where a few euros buys a small plate and a glass of Rioja, and locals treat bar-hopping there as a nightly ritual.

It also sits on the Camino de Francés, so you'll share the town with pilgrims passing through on the way to Burgos and beyond. Be honest: outside the tapas scene and easy day trips to bodegas in Haro or Elciego, there isn't much conventional sightseeing, and the city can feel sleepy on a weekday afternoon. Stay as close to the old town and Calle Laurel as you can — everything worth doing is walkable from there.
