Hotels in Otopeni

Otopeni is a small town in Ilfov County, just north of Bucharest, and almost everyone who comes here does so for one reason: Henri Coandă International Airport, Romania's busiest gateway, sits on its doorstep. The town straddles the DN1 highway heading north toward Ploiești and the Carpathians, so road-trippers bound for Brașov and the mountains also use it as a convenient first or last night.

Be honest: there is little to see in Otopeni itself, and the setting is a mix of traffic, retail parks and new residential blocks rather than anything charming. For sightseeing, nightlife or food you'll want central Bucharest, a drive or rail ride south past the city's smaller Băneasa airport. Stay close to the Henri Coandă terminal if you have an early flight, since that's precisely what Otopeni does best.
