Hotels in Puerto Iguazú

Puerto Iguazú exists for one reason: it's the Argentine base for the Iguazú Falls, one of the most overwhelming natural sights on the continent, with walkways that put you right into the spray of the Devil's Throat. The town itself is small and unremarkable, a grid of low buildings, souvenir stalls and asado joints that empties out fast once the falls close for the day.

There's little reason to linger in the town itself beyond a night or two, and outside peak season the pace can feel sleepy bordering on dull. Its proximity to Cataratas International Airport makes it an easy, fast entry point, and it also sits near the Brazilian and Paraguayan sides of the falls if you want to compare views across borders. Stay close to the town centre for easy access to restaurants and transport into the national park, since the falls themselves are the whole point of coming.
