Hotels in Teo

Teo is less a destination than Santiago de Compostela's southern back garden: a sprawling rural municipality of scattered parishes, pine and eucalyptus woods and small farms that has increasingly become a commuter suburb for people working in the Galician capital just to the north. Its main claim on travellers is the Camino Portugués, which runs through Teo on the final stretch into Santiago, so many of the people passing through are pilgrims on their last day's walk rather than tourists who have chosen to be here.

Be honest: there is little in the way of sights, nightlife or a proper town centre, accommodation is limited, and the Galician rain is as persistent here as anywhere in the region. What you get instead is quiet, greenery and easier, cheaper rooms within a short drive of Santiago's old town and Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport. Stay along the northern edge closest to Santiago if you want quick access to the city, or near the Camino route if you are walking.
