Hotels in Vantaa

Vantaa is Helsinki's airport city — home to Helsinki Airport, Finland's main international gateway, through which most visitors are simply passing on their way to the capital next door. The town does have one genuine draw of its own: Heureka, the hands-on Finnish science centre in the Tikkurila district, which pulls in around 300,000 visitors a year and is an easy hit with children.

Beyond that, Vantaa is largely low-rise suburbs, forest and business parks rather than a destination in its own right, and central Helsinki's harbour, design shops and sights are a short train ride away. The upside is connections: Tikkurila station puts you on fast trains to both the airport and the city. Stay near the airport for an early flight, or around Tikkurila for Heureka and quick rail links into Helsinki.
