Hotels near Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL)

Santiago's main airport sits well outside the city centre, so the choice really comes down to how much flexibility your flight times give you. If you're arriving late or leaving early, the practical answer is to stay within the airport perimeter itself: the Holiday Inn Santiago - Airport Terminal by IHG is built right into the terminal, meaning no transfer at all — about as close to a guaranteed connection as you'll get.

Beyond that, of the 15 hotels we track within 5 km, only 2 fall inside the tighter 3 km band, so the drop-off in convenience happens quickly once you move past the immediate airport zone. Those closer options are worth the small premium if your priority is minimising transfer time and stress, particularly with an early check-in or a red-eye departure. The remaining hotels further out tend to trade that convenience for lower rates, which can make sense if you've got a few hours' buffer built into your schedule anyway.

If your flight timing is more forgiving, basing yourself in Santiago proper is genuinely worth considering rather than defaulting to an airport hotel — the city has far more to offer for an evening than the terminal area does, and a taxi or transfer back out is a manageable trade-off when you're not racing a connection.
