Hotels near Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)

Hong Kong International Airport sits on Chek Lap Kok island, well separated from the city itself, so the usual advice about "staying central" doesn't really apply here — it's a genuine trade-off between airport convenience and everything else. The nearest option, Regal Airport Hotel, is 2.2 km out, a short taxi or bus ride, and it's the obvious pick if you've landed late, have an early check-in, or are flying out at an antisocial hour.

For most travellers, though, the better question is whether you need an airport hotel at all. Hong Kong's Airport Express train makes the city itself a realistic base even with tight connections, and staying in Kowloon or on Hong Kong Island gives you infinitely more to do in the evening than an airport hotel zone ever will. The airport hotels earn their keep specifically around red-eye arrivals, dawn departures, or long layovers when you simply want a bed without the transfer faff — book one of the sub-3 km options for that purpose, and save the city hotels for when your schedule actually allows time to enjoy Hong Kong.
