About F1 Mexico City Grand Prix 2026
Fans arrive dressed in team colours, many with flags and face paint, filling the grandstands long before cars take to the track. The stadium section, carved through a former baseball park, gives spectators a rare view of several corners at once, and the roar as drivers climb the final straight tends to reach another level entirely.

History
Formula 1 in Mexico City is inseparable from the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the parkland circuit in the Magdalena Mixhuca sports complex named after the prodigiously talented racing brothers Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez. The venue first held a round of the World Championship in 1963, staged races through to 1970, returned for a spell from 1986 to 1992, and came back for good in 2015 after a major redesign.
At more than 2,200 metres above sea level it is comfortably the highest track on the calendar, and the thin air is the weekend's defining challenge: engines and aerodynamics work harder for less, so teams bolt on their steepest wings yet still slither through the long, banked Peraltada complex. The layout's showpiece is the stadium section, where the cars thread slowly through a former baseball arena wrapped in grandstands, delivering some of the most raucous scenes in the sport. Held around the Day of the Dead, the race blends world-class competition with one of Mexico's great cultural celebrations.

About Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez
Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez sits inside Mexico City's vast Bosque de Chapultepec park, a circuit over 2,200 metres above sea level known for the altitude effects on car performance and an extraordinary stadium section in the infield. The passionate Mexican crowd generates a wall of sound around the Foro Sol, and the capital itself — Teotihuacán ruins, the Frida Kahlo house, extraordinary food — is a world-class destination.
Stay in Polanco or Roma Norte, close to the park, and book well ahead; race weekend coincides with the Día de los Muertos festival, so the city fills completely.
