Big Backpackers Hostel

Pros: About the only pleasant thing was the location of the hostel—just a short distance from the main train station and the CBD. Cons: The cleanliness of the accommodation was not good. The kitchen was dirty, mold was visible, there were piles of dust, and old moldy towels were under the dishes. The stove was full of accumulated food scraps. The laundry room was musty, the washing machines were dirty, and the dryers had clogged filters. The room and toilets were not as bad, but even there was definitely room for improvement. Toilet paper or soap were often missing. ​The equipment was broken.

Staff is really great. Facilities aren’t

Pros: Location and shower Cons: The bed was super uncomfortable, really big and firm pillow couldn’t really use it. I was on the upper bed in the dorms and it’s so unstable that every time the guy in the lower bed moved I felt I’m on a boat. Didn’t sleep that one night I was there.. And to take 6 dollar for a “towel rent”? Take a deposit or something.. I was there for 1 night so payed 6 dollar for one shower. Idk I find in weird 🤷🏻‍♂️

Computer Issue

Pros: The way we can leave luggage and use public areas before check-in was very convenient. Cons: I don't understand why I have to check-in all my info again, when I already did it online the day before. I assume that either the computer at reception doesn't update data or the staff I met was simply new and unfamiliar.

Pros: One of the best choices to live in Sydney CBD with limited budget but want to have a private bathroom, near to Central Station and not far away from main attractions. Cons: Some facilities are quite old, but consider the price, they are acceptable.

Friendly staff, just unavailable.

Pros: Friendly staff, good location and the room was well sized. Cons: Staff were unavailable for check in and took about 20 mins if not longer to be at the desk. It was advised in the instructions that you can just drop your luggage off, but there was no way to access the facilities unless checked in by staff. Luggage drop off was also located at the back room where you can just walk in. Multiple people had also arrived to check in at the same time. Calls and bookings messages were also sent but there was no contact made. It seems there was a staff shortage or staff members were assigned ta
