Bad reception service
Pros: Staff did not give my husband a key to the room to check-in even when I sent them a message requesting this. Cons: Staff are rude and unhelpful on reception. Don't even answer the phone! Need to change the doonas ours was very dirty!
It was poor because of not being able to shower during our stay.
Pros: Convenient for what we were going to. Cons: The shower tap fell off when we tried to use the shower. There was no screw holding it together. This would have been known by cleaners when they would have cleaned the room previously. Unable to have a shower. No other facility in the room.
Stayed several times now - will stay again.
Pros: Great location and friendly staff. Room was clean and bed comfortable Cons: Could’ve done with an extra pillows (or thicker pillows).

Still Great Value, Still a great Breakfast
Pros: When I was searching for accommodation for a swimming carnival trip, I immediately checked the reviews to see if there was any changes made at this motel. I found my own review dated April 2025. I stand by it 100% Great location - easy walk to the Aquatic Centre. Ibis Budget is cost effective, has comfy beds, a hot shower and nearby parking. We used very handy public transport this time. The bus stop is about 70 metres away. A perfect pre carnival breakfast is included - cereal, fruit, toast, pastries and great coffee.
