PLATZHIRSCH ZÜRICH - Downtown Boutique Hotel & Sushi Lounge

Hotel has been very carefully designed and created. It is very clean and the team are very friendly.

Pros: Very clean. Very friendly. Room very small and hot (air con but very noisy). In a pedestrian area so difficult to get to with large luggage. Lots of noise late at night and from 5am - chairs scraping on hard floors. For the price paid I was very disappointed. Cons: Noise especially from doors slamming closed in the early hours and chairs scraping on hard floors at 5am directly above our room. Air con good but too noisy to leave on overnight - open windows means noise from outside fans (and church bells every 15 mins).

Pleasant stay but no aircon in our room. Windows open but outdoor restaurant right below.

Pros: Well located right in old town with many restaurants close by. 10 minutes to main train station Cons: Our room was very hot and there was no air conditioning so we slept poorly. When I did my search for Zürich hotels I filtered for air condioning in my preferences . Turns out that the superior rooms do have air on but the basic doubles do not. Beware and read the individual room descriptions. I contacted booking about this but so far no response.

Exceptional Hospitality in the Heart of Zurich

We had a wonderful stay and were particularly impressed by the exceptional hospitality of the team. We had unknowingly booked a non-air-conditioned room, so I would recommend guests double-check this when making their reservation, particularly during the warmer months. Despite the hotel being at full capacity, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we remained comfortable, from arranging multiple fans for our room to even offering to move us to another room if one became available.
