Be careful, the hotel area is rough!
Pros: Excellent Marriott hotel. A high-level residence. However, Downtown Oakland is a war zone, dominated by drug dealers and addicts. The commerce around the hotel is nonexistent, with all shops permanently closed. Rough area. Do not stay at this hotel! Perfect for exploring San Francisco.
Pros: Excellent location hotel for exploring San Francisco. BART station is a 10-minute walk, another 10 minutes to the city. The accommodation is spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is adequate. Cons: I did not use the parking, which would have been $50 plus tax per night.

Best little affordable hotel in Oakland
Pros: Everyone is friendly and the room was spacious and incredibly clean. It looks as if it was remodeled recently. Cons: No dislikes. It was great.
