The Lawns Hotel

Adequate for a one night stay but not a good hotel if you have early plans or an early flight from East Midland Airport

Pros: The staff were friendly. There was a nice choice of food on the menu and the food was lovely when it arrived but service was very slow. Cons: The parking spaces were so small we struggled to park and get it of our car, which isn’t a large model. The rooms were so tiny that the kettle was directly next to the bed with a small corner shelf above the bedside table for the tea and coffee etc, which were plentiful. The bathroom was in need of updating. We found out just before our stay that breakfast service only starts at 8am which was too late for what we had planned. We contacted the hot

Lovely stay, great location

Pros: Great pub and location. Cons: Struggle to get in and out of the shower due to the layout of the bathroom

Good location for Donnington Park

Pros: Quiet room with comfortable bed. Good location for Donnington park Adequate breakfast Cons: Had a strong smell of sewage in the night but seemed to go after a couple of hours. I have stayed here before will not stay again

Pros: The menu was quite expensive so we ate elsewhere but everything else was fine Cons: Up above

Good traditional hotel with great food.

Pros: I liked that the hotel was right on top / next to a traditional pub venue. The food in the pub is excellent. Cons: Older building in nature so floorboards are typically really loud when someone walks on them, can be annoying when other guests got up really early. Room 12 that I was staying also had a really bad sewage smell coming from the bathroom, which may need looking at. Food and drink at the pub is a tad on the expensive side.
