First class for Location, Value and Everything A First Timer or Old Tokyo Hand Could Want in A Hotel

Pros: Location is superb, which, with the tariff, was why I chose it in May for two of my girls and again, for myself, wife and 8 year old son, in September and October. The free toiletries, the plethora of fresh towels, the staff and free hot chocolate were great. Cons: The room size for one but you can't change that; that is Japanese hotels for you. Luckily on our second stay (after visiting Kanazawa)we were able to move up to a twin room for $50/night extra and it was worth it as we could open our suitcases without putting them on the bed and get past them to get in and out. The location of the hotel was fabulous. Right next to train and food- what could be better. The amenities were generous. Rooms were spotless and the staff approachable and very helpful.

Close to train station, easy to find, and a friendly staff

Hotel close to Ueno station

Pros: Great location, so close to restaurants, shops, shopping street and Ueno station. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Very easy to get to and from the airport on the Keisei Skyliner. Cons: Very small room. Our room and bathroom always smell damp even though we've left the bathroom fan and aircon on all day and all night. Air freshener spray is provided in the room but it only lasts a few minutes before you have to spray again. We slept with bathroom fan on plus aircon plus opening the window slightly - the only way to get rid of the damp smell (temporarily).
