The cleaning staff were amazing. The other staff was non-existent. It’s pretty much a high-priced hostel.
Pros: Location Cons: The site said free breakfast and there wasn’t any breakfast at all.

Pros: I liked that I got to leave. Cons: What’s to like? No a/c. No elevator. Moldy shower. The toilet paper is John Wayne toilet paper - it’s rough, tough and it doesn’t take shit off of anyone.
Very disappointing to discover a charming hotel cheapened into a faceless, spartan experience.
Pros: Excellent location. Also across the street from the best breakfast restaurant in the city. Cons: I found it absurd that there was never a human being present at all during my stay, aside from the housekeeper (who, by the way, only speaks Spanish; fortunately, I am rusty but can communicate in Spanish myself.) I used to stay in this hotel and recommended it to friends and family when I lived on Telegraph Hill in the 1980s and 1990s. There were fewer rooms then but each was comfortably furnished and had some character. Now the rooms are smaller and spartan in furnishings, with not even a c
