I came to Baslow hoping to slow down and recharge a bit after a busy period, with plenty of oppurtunity for hiking. I wasn't disappointed. From the inn, it's just a short walk to the Chatsworth Estate, where I spent hours wandering the beautiful grounds, spotting deer in the early morning and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. In the other direction, you're quickly in the Peak District, with wonderful walks to Baslow Edge and Curbar Edge. I received a warm welcome on arrival. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I had asked for a room with a bath, and they kindly made sure I had one.
