Hotels in Baslow

Baslow is a small Peak District village that punches well above its size thanks to its position at the gates of Chatsworth House, one of England's grandest stately homes, a mile or so up the road. It's a stone-cottage, stepping-stones-over-the-Derwent kind of place, popular with walkers heading onto Baslow Edge and the gritstone moors above, and with day-trippers doing Chatsworth who fancy staying nearby rather than in Bakewell or Sheffield.

There isn't much to Baslow itself beyond a couple of pubs and a church, so this is a base for the surrounding countryside rather than a destination with its own nightlife or shops. Peveril Castle at Castleton is a manageable drive if you want another Peak District landmark on the same trip. Stay in the village centre near the Chatsworth road if you want to walk to the estate rather than drive and park.
