Hotels in Avondale

Avondale sits in the West Valley of metropolitan Phoenix, a fast-growing suburb that was farmland and cotton fields well into the late twentieth century before subdivisions and big-box retail took over. Its main claim to fame is Phoenix Raceway, which pulls in NASCAR crowds twice a year and briefly overwhelms the town's limited lodging supply. Camelback Ranch, the spring-training home of the Dodgers and White Sox, is also a short drive away and drives a similar seasonal spike.

Outside of race weekends and spring training, Avondale is a quiet, car-dependent commuter town with little in the way of standalone attractions or walkable center — be honest, most visitors are here for proximity to something else, not Avondale itself. Stay near the I-10 corridor, which puts you closest to the raceway and gives the fastest access into downtown Phoenix.
