Hotels in Fort Worth

Fort Worth was the last supply stop on the Chisholm Trail before cattle drives pushed into open territory, and it still runs the world's only twice-daily cattle drive, herding Texas Longhorns down Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards District each morning and afternoon. Sundance Square downtown holds the restaurants and nightlife, while the Cultural District's Kimbell Art Museum and Amon Carter Museum punch well above the city's size.

It sits 30 miles from Dallas as the other half of the Metroplex; Dallas gets the glossy skyline photos, Fort Worth keeps the Western identity. Traffic between the two can be heavy at rush hour, so it pays to pick a base and stay put. Stay in the Stockyards for cowboy culture or Sundance Square for restaurants and walkability.
