Hotels in Mulhouse

Mulhouse is Alsace's museum city, home to the Cite de l'Automobile, the world's largest car museum with over 520 vehicles including the largest Bugatti collection anywhere, housed in a converted 19th-century textile mill. Next door in scale is the Cite du Train, one of the largest railway museums in Europe, tracing French rail history through steam, diesel and electric locomotives.

Both sit within reach of the compact old town and its half-timbered squares, though Mulhouse's identity is more industrial heritage than the fairy-tale Alsace of Colmar or Strasbourg. It is a workable base for the wider Alsace wine road by car or train, if a plainer one. Stay near the station for the shortest hop to both museums and onward trains along the wine route.
