Hotels in Oistins

Oistins is a working fishing town on the south coast of Barbados, in the parish of Christ Church, and it's best known for its Friday Night Fish Fry, when the fish market turns into a sprawl of food stalls, grills and rum shacks serving flying fish, marlin and mahi-mahi to locals and visitors alike. History buffs may know it as the place where the Charter of Barbados was signed in 1652, though little visibly marks that today.

Outside the fish fry and the daily catch landing at the market, Oistins is a fairly ordinary, workaday town with modest shopping and not much in the way of sights, and Friday nights get crowded and noticeably tourist-heavy. Its real strengths are location and atmosphere. Grantley Adams airport is a short drive away, the beaches of Miami Beach (Enterprise) are close by, and Bridgetown is easy to reach for museums and the cathedral. Stay along the coast toward Maxwell and Dover for beachfront access while keeping the fish fry within easy reach.
