Hotels in Oshkosh

Oshkosh sits on the western shore of Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin, a mid-sized city best known nationally for two things: the EAA AirVenture fly-in every July, when the population effectively swells with aviation enthusiasts and the airport becomes the busiest in the world for that week, and the OshKosh B'gosh children's clothing brand that started here.

Outside AirVenture week, it's a quiet college and manufacturing town built around UW-Oshkosh, with a workaday downtown along the Fox River rather than a tourist-oriented one. There isn't much reason to visit outside the airshow or a specific university or business trip, and hotel rates and availability swing wildly depending on whether AirVenture is on. Stay near the airport or along Highway 41 if you're here for AirVenture; downtown near the river is the better choice for a normal visit.
