Pöls is a small Styrian village in the Mur valley, part of the Pölstal region between Judenburg and Zeltweg, with a population under 1,500. It is not a tourist destination in any conventional sense: what puts it on the map is industry, chiefly the large paper mill that has anchored the local economy for decades and still shapes the town's rhythm and skyline.

Visitors here are typically business travellers connected to that plant, or people using it as a quiet, cheap base for exploring the wider Aichfeld and Mur valley — the Seetaler Alpen rise nearby for hiking and skiing, and Judenburg's old town is a short drive away. There's little to detain you in Pöls itself beyond practical convenience, and the five hotels here serve function over charm. Stay in Pöls only if you need to be near the mill or want a low-cost, low-frills base for day trips into the surrounding valley and mountains.
