Hotels in Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle

Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle sits at the foot of the Ballon d'Alsace in the Vosges, and it functions almost entirely as a base for that mountain: skiing in winter at the local Ballon d'Alsace and Rouge Gazon stations, hiking and cycling (this is Tour de France col territory) in summer.

It's a genuine village of around 1,500 people rather than a resort built for tourism, so don't expect much beyond the outdoor activity itself — nightlife and restaurant choice are thin, and things go quiet outside the main seasons. What you get in return is easy access to the passes and trails without the inflated prices of bigger Vosges resorts. Stay here if you're skiing Ballon d'Alsace or riding the col, and pick a hotel close to the D465 for the quickest run up the mountain.
