Hotels in Sant Joan Despí

Sant Joan Despí is a residential town in the Baix Llobregat, just west of Barcelona across the Llobregat river, and most visitors come for one of two reasons. Football fans know it as the home of FC Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, where the first team trains and the youth and women's sides play. Architecture lovers come for Josep Maria Jujol, Gaudí's collaborator, whose Torre de la Creu, nicknamed the "Casa dels Ous" for its egg-shaped domes, and Can Negre are worth the short trip out.

Be honest: beyond these, it is a quiet commuter town with little nightlife and few sights, and you will be heading into Barcelona for Palau Güell, the Fundació Joan Miró and almost everything else. That makes it a practical, calmer base, with Barcelona Sants a short train ride away and El Prat airport close by. Stay near the town centre and the train station, where rail and tram links make getting into Barcelona simplest.
