Hotels in Silver Lake, Los Angeles

Silver Lake is LA's creative neighbourhood proper — not Hollywood's version of creative, but the actual one: indie record labels, the best taco trucks in the city operating from car parks after 9pm, dim-lit wine bars on Sunset Boulevard and a Silver Lake Reservoir walk that locals do before 7am with dogs and coffee. The hills above give canyon-road hiking ten minutes from the city. A highway drive from everything else; a Metrolink ride from Union Station. For travellers who want LA lived in, not performed — the city where the musicians and writers actually live rather than the studios where they work — Silver Lake is the honest address.
