Hotels in El Arenal, Sevilla

El Arenal is the neighbourhood between the Cathedral and the Guadalquivir — the bullfighting district, named for the sandy river bank where ships once moored. The Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza sits on the river; so does the Torre del Oro watchtower and the Teatro de la Maestranza opera house. Less tourist-saturated than Santa Cruz next door and walkable to every major monument while feeling like a functioning neighbourhood of local tapas bars and residents going about their daily business. The river promenade along the Paseo de Cristóbal Colón is excellent at dusk. For the Seville between the great monuments, El Arenal is the overlooked neighbourhood.
