About Hull City v Fulham
By mid-May the table has largely settled its business, so what's on the line often comes down to pride, form heading into the summer, or the odd mathematical permutation still to be resolved. Expect the usual matchday rhythm: pubs filling early, scarves out, a crowd that knows exactly what this fixture means to them even if the wider season has quietened down. Saturday afternoon football at its most familiar.
Where to stay nearby
Skidby and Goxhill sit closest to the ground, each around 8km out, and both offer a reasonable spread of hotels for a matchday visit. Cleethorpes is the furthest option at roughly 30km, but it has by far the largest choice of places to stay, so it's worth considering if the closer towns are full. Whichever base you pick, allow time for matchday traffic around Kingston upon Hull, especially in the hour or so before the 2pm kick-off, and check local bus or rail options into the city centre before driving in.

About Hull City
Hull City were founded in 1904 and took the Tigers nickname from the black-and-amber stripes they have worn ever since. The club had already had several spells in the top flight when they were last relegated, in 2016-17, going down after a heavy final-day defeat at Crystal Palace. Their return arrived nine years later, via the 2025-26 Championship play-offs, when a goal from Oli McBurnie beat Middlesbrough in the final at Wembley and sent the Tigers back up for 2026-27 — the reward for a long rebuild through the lower leagues at the MKM Stadium.
Hull City records & quirks
- Hull became the first team eliminated from a major cup competition on penalties, losing to Manchester United in the 1970 Watney Cup.
- In 1998, Hull fans threw tennis balls onto the pitch during a League Cup tie at Bolton, an early example of an in-match fan protest.
- Hull's climb from the fourth tier to the Premier League between 2003 and 2008 is one of the fastest rises in English football history.
- Hull's 6-0 win over Fulham in December 2013 remains the club's biggest-ever Premier League victory.
About MKM Stadium
Hull City's home stands in West Park on the western edge of Hull's centre, a tidy modern bowl shared over the years with rugby league and big outdoor concerts. The parkland setting is a short walk from the city's old town, whose cobbled lanes, museums and the famous Land of Green Ginger reward a wander.
Hull Paragon station is around fifteen minutes on foot, linking across Yorkshire. A room in the centre puts the marina, pubs and transport together, with the ground an easy pre-match stroll away.
