Hotels in Aue

Aue sits in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) in Saxony, close to the Czech border, and merged with neighbouring Bad Schlema in 2019 to form Aue-Bad Schlema, though the town still functions as the practical hub for the wider valley. It's known locally for football (Erzgebirge Aue's stadium draws regional crowds) and for the mining heritage that shaped this whole region, now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

This is not a tourist destination in the conventional sense — there's little in the way of grand sights, and most visitors are here for hiking, winter sports in the surrounding hills, or spa treatment in nearby Bad Schlema's radon baths rather than the town itself. With population under 19,000 and only a handful of hotels listed, choice is limited and you should book ahead during match days or peak hiking season. Stay centrally near the Mulde river for easy access to the train station and the short hop to Bad Schlema's spa facilities.
