Hotels in Bakewell

Bakewell is the market town at the heart of the Peak District, small enough to walk end to end in fifteen minutes but busy year-round with visitors drawn by the Monsal Trail, the Derwent riverside walks and the famous pudding, which locals will firmly tell you is not a tart.

On a summer weekend the town centre is thick with coach parties and day-trippers, and the choice of restaurants doesn't quite match the tourist numbers. Stay in or right on the edge of the town centre rather than out on the approach roads, so you can walk to the river and market without needing a car.
