Hotels in Christ Church

Christ Church is Barbados' south-coast resort strip, not a town: St Lawrence Gap is a compact run of bars and restaurants, and the fishing village of Oistins hosts the Friday Night Fish Fry, where wood-fired grills turn out flying fish, mahi-mahi and swordfish alongside macaroni pie and breadfruit, all washed down with local rum.

It's touristy and loud on Friday nights, with picnic-table dining and vendors happy to haggle over prices, but that's rather the point. There's no real historic centre here; this is a beach base built around the Gap's nightlife and Oistins' weekly fish-fry ritual rather than sightseeing. Stay in or near St Lawrence Gap for walking distance to restaurants, bars and the Friday fish fry.
