Hotels in Forest Park

Forest Park is a working-class suburb in Clayton County, south of downtown Atlanta, and most visitors end up here because it is close to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, not because of anything in town. Its best-known landmark is the Atlanta State Farmers Market, a sprawling wholesale and retail produce hub that is worth a wander for regional fruit, vegetables and plants. The former Army post at Fort Gillem has been redeveloped largely for logistics and warehousing, which says a lot about the area's character: practical, industrial and built around trucks and interstates.

Be honest: there is little here in the way of sightseeing, nightlife or walkable streets, and the hotel stock leans toward functional, budget-minded properties rather than anything with personality. What it offers is easy access to the airport and a straightforward drive into Atlanta for less than you would pay closer in. Stay near the I-75 and I-285 corridors for the quickest runs to the airport and downtown. (Note: there are several US towns called Forest Park, including ones in Georgia, Ohio and Illinois. This blurb assumes Forest Park, Georgia. Please confirm the state before publishing.)
