Hotels in Mississauga

Mississauga is Toronto's big western neighbour and the home of Canada's main airport, Toronto Pearson — which is the honest reason most people stay here: it is a cheaper, quieter base a short train or drive from the city rather than a destination in its own right. Its landmark is the pair of curving Absolute Towers, nicknamed the Marilyn Monroe towers, which won a best-tall-building award in the Americas in 2012, and its centre of gravity is Square One, one of Canada's largest shopping centres, beside Celebration Square.

The genuine highlight is Port Credit, a walkable lakeside village on Lake Ontario with a marina and waterfront trails. The downside is bluntness: much of Mississauga is car-dependent suburb and office parks. Stay near Square One for transit and shopping, or in Port Credit for the waterfront and a nicer evening.
