Compare prices from multiple booking suppliers and find the best hotel deal in Petworth.

Petworth is a small West Sussex market town built around the antiques trade and around Petworth House itself, the National Trust mansion whose deer park was landscaped by Capability Brown and whose walls hold one of the country's best collections of Turner paintings. The town centre is a genuinely handsome tangle of Georgian shopfronts and cobbled lanes, full of antique dealers rather than chain shops, which makes for good browsing but not much else.

Be honest: with a population under 3,000, evening options are thin, parking in the centre is tight, and it can feel sleepy outside the antiques fairs and summer weekends when day-trippers from London arrive. It's well placed for exploring the wider area, including Arundel Castle a short drive south. Our catalogue here runs to five hotels, so choice is limited rather than overwhelming. Stay right in the town centre if you want to walk to the antique shops and Petworth House gates without needing a car.
