Hotels in Saint-Saturnin

Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt sits in the Luberon, a stone-built hilltop village known mainly for cherry orchards that ring the slopes below it and for the ruined castle that still overlooks the rooftops. It has none of the polish of Gordes or Roussillon nearby, and that's really the point: this is a working agricultural village with a Saturday market and old stone lanes rather than a curated postcard scene. Outside the cherry season and the summer months there's little to do here after dark, and the restaurant choice is thin compared with the bigger Luberon names.

What it offers instead is quiet, genuine countryside living within easy driving distance of the more famous villages, without the day-trip crowds. Population is small, just over 2,000, so this suits travellers using it as a base for exploring the Luberon by car rather than those wanting village nightlife on their doorstep. Stay in the old village centre near the castle for the best views over the orchards and easiest walking access to the market.
