Hotels in Hongdae, Seoul

Hongdae is Seoul's creative university district — the area around Hongik University where indie music venues, street performances, graffiti-covered lanes, pop-up stores and affordable clubs have made it the city's counter-culture capital for decades. The weekend flea market in the park is a Seoul institution; the nearby Mangwon Market serves excellent local food. The AREX Airport Railroad connects directly from Incheon, making Hongdae many travellers' first taste of Seoul. It suits younger visitors, K-indie fans and budget-conscious travellers: guesthouse options are good value, the nightlife runs late without costing a fortune and the energy is among the liveliest in east Asia.
