Hotels in Adelaide

Adelaide is Australia's most underrated capital: a flat, gridded, bikeable centre wrapped in parklands, the superb Central Market, and the country's best wine regions — Barossa, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills — all within an hour.

Its festival season packs late summer, which is also cricket season: Adelaide Oval, the prettiest major ground in the country, sits just across the Torrens footbridge from the centre and hosts the Adelaide Strikers' Big Bash League matches through December and January, when warm evenings make the walk to the ground part of the fun. Stay in the CBD or North Adelaide and you can walk to the Oval; book ahead if your dates hit the Test match or festival season.
