Hotels in Amstelveen

Amstelveen is a suburban municipality directly south of Amsterdam, best known as home to a large Japanese expat community, the Cobra Museum of modern art, and the Amsterdamse Bos, one of the biggest parks in the Netherlands. It has none of the canal-house charm that draws people to Amsterdam itself: this is tidy, low-rise, residential Netherlands, built for living rather than sightseeing.

What it does offer is proximity — Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is close by, and the Amsterdam city centre, with the Van Gogh Museum, Royal Palace and Wereldmuseum, is a short tram or drive away. Be honest: you'd stay here for convenience and value, not atmosphere, and evenings are quiet compared to the city. Stay near the Amstelveen Stadshart area for easy tram access into Amsterdam and a walkable cluster of shops and restaurants once you're back for the night.
