Hotels in Brockton

Brockton, Massachusetts, is best known as the "City of Champions," the hometown of boxers Rocky Marciano and Marvin Hagler, and it built its early wealth as a major shoe-manufacturing center in the nineteenth century. That industrial base has long since faded, and the city today is a working-class commuter town roughly midway between Boston and Providence, with a downtown that's still finding its footing after decades of decline.

Be honest: this isn't a destination in itself — there are no major sights, and travelers passing through Quincy for United First Parish Church will find little reason to linger here beyond convenience. What Brockton does offer is affordability and easy highway access via Route 24, making it a practical base for visiting family in the area or catching commuter rail into Boston without paying Boston prices.
