Hotels in Duras

Compare prices from multiple booking suppliers and find the best hotel deal in Duras.

Duras is a small bastide town in Lot-et-Garonne, built around its château, a genuine medieval fortress rebuilt in the seventeenth century into something closer to a grand house, which now anchors the local wine trade — Côtes de Duras, mostly whites and reds you won't find much outside the region. The town itself is tiny, barely 1,200 people, with a market square, a handful of restaurants and not much in the way of nightlife or organised sightseeing.

Be honest: this is a stopover or a base for touring vineyards and nearby Duras AOC producers, not a destination with much to fill more than a day or two. It sits within easy reach of Bordeaux and the Dordogne, which is really the appeal — quiet, rural, and cheaper than either. With five hotels listed, choice is limited, so book early in harvest season (September) when the wine trade fills rooms. Stay right in Duras itself, near the château, so you can walk to dinner rather than drive rural roads at night.
