Hotels in Ferney-Voltaire

Ferney-Voltaire is the small French town Voltaire himself built up in the eighteenth century, retreating just across the border while staying close enough to Geneva to keep stirring trouble. The grid of arcaded streets he laid out is still there, along with his chateau, but the real draw today is location rather than history: this is where people stay when Geneva's hotel prices become absurd, since Geneva International Airport (GVA) is only a few minutes away and the border crossing is a formality.

Be honest: it's a functional base, not a destination, with a population of under eight thousand and little in the way of nightlife or restaurants beyond the basics. Stay here if you want Geneva access without Geneva prices, ideally booking one of the properties closest to the airport for the easiest transfer.
