Le Fleix is a small riverside village in the Dordogne, sitting on the banks of the Dordogne river between Bergerac and Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, in the heart of Bergerac wine country. It has no major sights of its own — this is a base for vineyard visits, canoeing on the river, and cycling the flat valley roads, not a destination with much to do after dark.

Be honest: with under 1,500 residents, don't expect restaurants, shops or nightlife beyond a boulangerie and a couple of cafés, and six hotels for a village this size suggests most guests are passing through rather than staying long. The appeal is quiet countryside, easy access to Bergerac's old town and the Saussignac and Monbazillac vineyards, and river views rather than urban amenities. Stay right in the village if you want to walk to the river and vineyards on foot; base yourself in Bergerac instead if you want restaurants, a train station and more going on in the evenings.
