Hotels in Medford

Medford sits in the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon and works mainly as a gateway: Crater Lake National Park is roughly eighty miles east, and the valley's wineries and the Rogue River's rafting runs are closer still. The city itself is modest and functional, built around agriculture and timber rather than tourism, so don't expect a charming historic centre.

Downtown has picked up new hotels and restaurants in recent years, but most travellers are here to stage a trip rather than to see Medford itself. Ashland, with its Shakespeare festival, is a short drive south if you want more to do in the evenings. Stay in or near downtown Medford for the shortest run north to Crater Lake or south to Ashland.
