Compare prices from multiple booking suppliers and find the best hotel deal in Oía.

Oía is the village behind Santorini's postcard shot: whitewashed cave houses and blue-domed churches stacked above the caldera, with sunset crowds gathering along the castle ruins every evening to watch the sky go orange. It's genuinely beautiful, and quieter and more upmarket than Fira, the island's main town, with better architecture and fewer bars. Be honest: this reputation makes it expensive and seasonally overrun, with narrow lanes that clog completely at sunset and day-trippers pouring in by bus and cruise tender.

There's little to do beyond eat well and photograph the view — Ancient Thera and the ruins at Akrotiri are short drives away if you want actual sightseeing, and Santorini International Airport is about a 30-minute taxi ride. Book caldera-facing rooms well in advance, since sea-view terraces and infinity pools are the whole point of staying here rather than in Fira.
