Hotels in Silao

Silao is the working town of the Bajío: an industrial hub of around 74,000 people in Guanajuato state, best known for the sprawling General Motors assembly plant and the Puerto Interior logistics park that keep its hotels busy with engineers, suppliers and contractors on weekday stays. It also hosts Guanajuato International Airport (BJX), so many visitors pass through without ever seeing the centre. Its one big draw is the Cristo Rey monument atop Cerro del Cubilete, often described as the geographic heart of Mexico and a major pilgrimage site with sweeping views over the plains.

Silao itself has a modest historic core and little nightlife, and most travellers come for business or a convenient base. The colonial city of Guanajuato and the leather-shopping hub of León are both a short drive away and far more rewarding for leisure. Stay near the airport and the highway corridor toward Puerto Interior if you're here for work or an early flight, since that's where most business hotels cluster and commute times stay short.
