Hotels near Mount Fuji

Fujiyoshida is the most popular base, sitting about 13 km from the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station and connected by direct bus, which makes it convenient for climbers tackling the Yoshida Trail, the most-used route up the mountain. It also has an onsen culture worth noting, with hotels like HOTEL MYSTAYS Fuji Onsen Resort, Highland Resort Hotel & Spa, Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen, and Fujisan Onsen Bessho SASA offering a soak after a long hike. It also puts you near Fuji-Q Highland and classic lake-town views, so it suits travellers who want sightseeing and photo stops alongside the climb.

Gotemba, roughly 15 km from the Gotemba Trail 5th Station via bus, is a good pick for hikers set on the longer, quieter Gotemba Trail, and for those who want easy access to outlet shopping and a more low-key town feel. Options here include Hotel Clad, Dormy Inn Express Fujisan Gotemba, Select Inn Fujisan Gotemba, and Hotel KAN-RAKU Fujisan Gotemba.

Fujinomiya, about 18 km from its own 5th Station with a direct bus link, works well for those approaching from the Shizuoka side or heading up the Fujinomiya Trail, generally considered the shortest route to the summit. Choices include Fujinomiya Fujikyu Hotel, Kuretake-inn Premium Fujinomiya, Kyukamura Fuji, and Super Hotel Fujinomiya.
