Neighbourhood · Toronto
Leslieville is where Toronto's film and design industry lives between shoots — a long, low-rise east-end neighbourhood of converted industrial buildings housing independent restaurants, brunch spots that queue before 10am on Sundays, furniture and design shops and the Queen East streetcar running straight to downtown. Less marketed than Kensington and the Distillery, and better for it: the restaurants are genuinely excellent, the pace is relaxed and the sense of arriving somewhere the city hasn't fully packaged yet is intact. For a Toronto base that rewards longer exploration and feeds you exceptionally well across the full day, Leslieville is the quietly outstanding choice.
