History

The Hundred, launched by the ECB in 2021, is a 100-ball competition of eight city franchises fielding men's and women's teams together, and Southern Brave play at one of the country's most modern grounds. The Utilita Bowl in Hampshire, formerly the Rose Bowl and the Ageas Bowl, opened in 2001 as Hampshire's new home and has grown into a full international venue, hosting Test matches from 2011 and, during the pandemic in 2020, England's first behind-closed-doors bio-secure Tests.

Its open bowl setting, permanent floodlights and integrated on-site Hilton hotel make it one of the most self-contained match-day destinations in Britain. Southern Brave were the very first men's champions of The Hundred in 2021 and added the women's title in 2023, giving the ground an early stake in the competition's story.
