Hotels in Colomiers

Colomiers is a working suburb on the western edge of Toulouse and the second-largest town in the Haute-Garonne, shaped almost entirely by the aerospace industry that dominates this side of the city. Airbus and its many suppliers employ much of the local workforce, and most visitors come for meetings, training or plant visits rather than sightseeing. Much of the town grew rapidly as a planned new town from the nineteen-sixties onward, so expect tidy residential districts, roundabouts, business parks and generous green space rather than old-world streets.

Be honest: there is little here to hold a leisure traveller for long, and evenings are quiet, so you will want Toulouse itself, a short train or drive away, for restaurants, the pink-brick old town and nightlife. The upside is practicality, since Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is close by and prices are often gentler than in central Toulouse during trade-fair and business peaks. Stay near the town centre and railway station if you plan to commute into Toulouse, or towards the airport side if your business is with the aerospace sites.
