Cully is a small wine village on Lake Geneva, sitting in the middle of the Lavaux terraces, the steeply terraced vineyards that UNESCO lists as a World Heritage site. It's a base for walking the vineyard paths between Lausanne and Montreux, or for drinking the crisp Chasselas whites the region is built on, rather than for any particular sight in the village itself.

Be honest: Cully is tiny, with under two thousand residents, so nightlife is minimal and options are limited — we list only five hotels here, and most travellers use it as a quiet stop rather than a multi-day base. The lakeside setting is genuinely attractive, with the water on one side and terraced slopes rising steeply on the other, and the train connection to Lausanne and Vevey keeps it from feeling cut off. Stay right by the lakefront in the old village core, where you can walk straight into the vineyards and reach the station on foot.
